Epic: “Third-party Wii development unprofitable”
News, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 | Paul D. | July 23, 2009 at 2:21 am
Epic’s main man Mark Rein has said that developing for the Wii leaves third-party developers ’scratching for seconds’.
Rein made the comment in an interview with Eurogamer, and previously added that it was only Nintendo making ‘a lot of money’ from the Wii.
His remarks came about after he had claimed that Activision’s Bobby Kotick’s comment about dropping PS3 development if the console’s price doesn’t come down as ‘weird’ and also said on the matter:
‘I’m sure Bobby still sold three, four, five million copies of Modern Warfare…I think he’s just frustrated in that he hasn’t sold seven or eight million, like he has on the 360.’
Maybe Bobby should talk to Capcom, who couldn’t give a rat’s arse about sales. Apparently.

This isn’t anything new, the Wii is not hardcore enough to profit for third party development.
