News has broken of Microsoft teaming up with five big production houses to create seven anime shorts titled ‘Halo Legends’.

This isn't 'Halo Legends', but it's cute
The Los Angeles Times has broke the news, while Kotaku has somehow got wind of the production houses involved.
They are:
Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist), Casio Entertainment, Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell), Studio4 C (Transformers Animated), and Toei Animation (Dragonball).
The LA Times also report that Microsoft’s creative staff is approving ‘major visual and storytelling decisions’. It will be distributed and released by Warner Bros. next year via DVD and digital platforms.
Awesome.

Assuming this is all real … a little quote from ‘Meet the Parents’ – “Yeah, you can pretty much milk anything” … and boy, aren’t they milking Halo. It might be because I’m not such a big fan, but this just seems ridiculous. Making Halo anime – I hardly think its ‘cool’ and can be likened to watching Pokemon. Now, while I have nothing against Pokemon, anyone who think that Halo in anime is any more appropriate clearly needs to wake up. Pathetic.
I’m fine with it. It has Production I.G. who made the absolutely wonderful Ghost in the Shell movies. If they can take Halo back to a world of mystery and intrigue, then it’s them. The past two games have been far-removed from Halo’s original impact.
I understand what Nicholas means, but I honestly think BONES and everyone will do a great job.
Can’t wait to see it.
Yea this should certainly be a good one.
