Considering that all these console fanboys are, as you say, 12 years old, it is not surprising that they missed Serious Sam.
Secondly, come on now, Uncharted is the most brilliantly voice acted game ever made. Halo has some of the most beautiful music ever composed for a video game. That has to count for something!
