Former Soldier to be Banned from UFC over EA’s MMA Game

Former Special Forces soldier Tim Kennedy looks set to be banned from the UFC after revealing he is to star in EA Sports’ upcoming MMA title.

According to this article, the ex-Green Beret may have been paid between $5,000 to $15,000 for his likeness by EA Sports.

Yet the ‘Army Fighter’ wouldn’t reveal exact numbers and claimed he wasn’t worried about the EA-UFC debacle:

“It doesn’t really matter, I’m in the video game regardless and probably would’ve been anyways. If Dana has said that, well, that’s Dana being Dana.”

He then further referred to Dana as “the big bully of the MMA world”.

While he has yet to perform any motion capture, Kennedy’s video game experience consists of playing a few shooters and that he’s not a “video game guy”.

Still, he doesn’t want to look like “a total dork in the video game” and hopes “to make Green Berets look cool”.

Judging from his laid-back reaction, it doesn’t seem he knows the full extent of the argument between EA and the UFC…

Dana White is a douche. After him saying Fedor Emelianenko was nothing he lost all credibilty in my eyes.

    Good on Tim Kennedy

“You told us you’d never be in business with us. They wouldn’t even take a meeting because mixed martial arts disgusted them. This wasn’t a real sport. Boy, they got over that real quick, didn’t they?”

You know I’m on Dana White’s side, the guy offered them everything and they insulted him and his bussienss. EA then come up with this new game and its like spitting in his face all over again.

Man I miss Pride, I thought the rules in Pride allowed for a more technical display of fighting, while not as appealing to mainstream audiences it allowed submission fighters, grapplers to exploit more of their arsenal.

Yes good on Dana for making a stand, even if he is a douche :P
