Got Low Vitamin D? Yup, Blame Video Games

A study in the US claims the reason children are suffering from alarmingly low Vitamin D levels is due to those darned video games (and TV, of course).
It affects seven out of ten kids and could result in all sorts of chaos in their future if their parents don’t actually care for the…sorry, I meant, if they don’t stop playing video games.
About 9% (7.6 million) of those aged between 1 and 21 have levels that can be classed as “deficient”, while a further 61% (50.8 million) have levels that are still insufficient.
There are all sorts of reasons to blame, but the onus is pretty much on video games as usual.
First of all…do one-year-olds frequent video games that much? Are they growing up that fast? I’ve not been on Xbox Live in a while, but I’m guessing the one-year-old noobs put a whole new spin on the term “potty mouth”.
Second, my girlfriend’s younger sister and her mother have Vitamin D deficiencies and they don’t own any video game consoles or any fully-functional TVs. Funny that…
