Browsing around the EU Playstation Community forums, I found an interesting post. There could possibly be a new PS3 SKU from the looks of it. Read on.
An image posted on community.eu.playstation.com shows a picture of a plastic case with a PS3 flyer in it saying “Pre Order Now. New PS3 Available September 2009. Limited Stock. $50 Despoit Require.”
Now not sure if this is a new SKU or a brand new console all together, or even a rumored PS3 slim, but it’s something for sure. There is a few conventions coming up before September and we’re hoping that Sony will make some kind of an announcement in regards to this.
… or this could simply be some kind of a joke.

after speaking to my cousins girlfriend who wants to surprise him with a ps3..she had this to say..
she’s been desperately calling all over sydney to find a store that’s still got ps3..she told me she spoke to one of the store people (couldn’t remeber the store) as well as sony australia and was told that sony have stopped making the “fat” ps3s and everyhthing that stores currently have is the last batch..no mention of a price drop for those consoles as its up to the stores apparently..but they did say that australia will be getting the new “PS3 SLIM”s in the second week of september
take this with a grain of salt as i can’t confirm 100% but she’s not stupid

The PS3 Slim is coming, we just don’t know when and how much. As we all know, Sony scaled down the PS1 and PS2 so this is a trend. And when Sony does release a Slim version, it’s usual reduced in price. I’ve got a feeling that the PS3 will be cheaper but not by much. Idealy, I think it needs to be under £200. But the PSP Go is going to be priced at around £240 when it’s released in October, the PSP 3000 is priced at around £130, so there’s about £100 increase. You can’t trust Sony…

The PS3 Slim is coming, without a doubt. I just hope Sony includes something new with the Slim, or it will seem pointless to me.

The only thing i’m interested in is if they are going to announce a price reduction for the 80GB and the 160GB PS3, and if they are going to release their BC update soon. I am very interested in getting the Best Buy Bundle of Killzone 2/MGS4 and buying a couple of PS2 games to go along with it. I still think that bundle is an amazing deal, but I want to make sure there is some type of BC software that is being released.
If you actually look at the FULL SIZE picture then u will see that it would be very hard to fake some of the stuff.
I can guarantee you that there is going to be a price reduction, and a new PS3.

well what do you know I didn’t fake it, next time find a reason to yell fake OTHER than pure skepticism, I would expect you to take any rumors with a grain of salt but sometimes the rumors are true
