Beatles bassist Paul McCartney has revealed that he actually liked to play a bit of Pilotwings back in the day.
It comes via this interview with McCartney about The Beatles: Rock Band. McCartney talked about his son who, is in his 30s, grew up during the gaming boom:
“I have a son who’s 30, so he’s a big gamer, he gamed through a lot of the early stuff. I was thinking the other day, “God, that’s a long way from ping pong.” Do you remember standing in front of that huge set? How exciting was that? Get a bit of English on it. But his generation went through stuff like – I like Pilotwings and stuff like that. I liked the way you used to crash on purpose: “No!” ”
We can’t really understand a lot of what he’s saying, but his quirky, antiquated personality is actually quite charming so we’ll forgive him (plus, I liked his last solo album). Who can forget the “Android” comment?
Rumours of McCartney’s new Pilotwings band are unfounded. Shame, cause we heard their first song was going to be ’Land on the Run(way)’…

Haha, I liked the “Land on the Run(way)” spoof. I actually saw him at Citi Field, he was pretty awesome
I was at the Citi Field show as well. Best concert I’ve ever seen.
