As already proven by such great titles as Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, and Cave Story, it doesn’t always require a Big-Name studio to bring a new and original idea to the table. Recently, Alebrije Studios, a small group of developers, contacted us about their latest project, Microbiotics. While an early preview version of the game wont be made available to us until sometime later this week, what we’ve seen of this unique little title so far is enough to make us want to try it out for ourselves already. The game has even already received a “Creative Design” award, and that’s something that demands respect, regardless of the size of the studio.

“In this version we revisit an adverse, aqueous environment in which the only way to survive is to recover vital energy from enemy micro-robots.” Said Joe Alanís, Art and Workflow Manager for Alebrije Studios, “This score-focused game introduces a dual-reticle firing system that raises the experience for advanced gamers. It blends fast action with puzzle elements, resulting in a dynamic and addictive game.”

While the company expresses dreams to make console games in the near future, it appears that Microbiotics will only be available on the PC, at least for now. Check out the video below for a first look at Microbiotics in action, and check back with for our in-depth look at Microbiotics.
What do you guys think about Microbiotics? Are you guys as excited to see what Alebrije Studios bring the table with this one?

What ever happened to this editor? I used to enjoy reading his posts. He hasn’t been writing anything for a while now though. Is Manny still with you guys?
He never really, continued writing after doing a news bit just a few weeks ago.
Oh, I see. Well, did he go to a different website or something?
No he is just a blogger on GameInformer.com.
I have always liked those videogames that doesn’t come from bug studio. Sometimes you can find some really good idea.
Daniel.
