A Look At The Mortal Kombat That Never Was
Features, News | Dave S. | November 19, 2009 at 6:29 pm
Former Midway artist Vincent Proce has revealed on his blog his concept for a proposed revamp of the Mortal Kombat Franchise.
Speaking on his blog, Proce commented:
“The basis for the idea was a re imagining of the Mortal Kombat franchise from the original premise but mixing modern muti-player and dismemberment game design with the original fighting mechanic.”
The redesigns undeniably look pretty sweet and certainly have an alluring quality about them. If the gameplay was up to spec, it’s not too hard to envision new interest being ignited in the tired series. Unfortunately, as well all know, Midway became bankrupt and all staff, including Mr. Proce, were either fired or swallowed up by Warner Bros. Still, WB may decide to take the next Mortal Kombat in a similar direction.

If they had done this in a 2-D gameplay field instead of MK vs. DC, I would be much happier

Scorpion looks awesome.. Why cant they do a new, darker MK with entirely new characters while keeping in some classics, like 2 or 3 of em. and bring back proper fatalities, and sprinkle with new brutalities & animalities. (imagine a HD animality!!!!!!!!)

Mortal Kombat has sucked since the late 90s. Just because this typical art is from a “developer” doesn’t mean it’s good…
…because it’s actually not that good.

@ Daryl
Your opinion is dually noted by me and others I’m sure but it’s your opinion, plenty of MK games were great.
