Microsoft Executive Confirms PGR 5 in the Works

A Microsoft Executive has confirmed that the next PGR game is already in development via a blog post.
Tom Burt was posting on the ‘Customers’ blog over at Tesla and confirmed he was asked to supply sounds for both the PGR and Forza teams with his Tesla Roadster:
“A team of sound engineers from Microsoft Game Studios (some working on Forza, some on Project Gotham Racing) asked if I was willing to take my Roadster to a track so they could record a variety of sounds. Some time ago they had the opportunity to record Tesla motor noises when a prototype was being run on a dyno at Tesla. But the teams were excited about the prospect of recording other sounds, particularly tire skid and squeal noises, without the interference of loud engine and exhaust noise. Of course I said “yes.” ”
While the two games appear to be sharing assets rather closely, it does suggest that it might not be Forza developers Turn 10 in control of the PGR wheel. Or it could be that Turn 10 currently have two teams working on both series, that’s our bet.

I’m a huge fan of PGR. I hope this is a return to form for the series

bgr used to be a sega published game called msr not pgr,
metropolis street racer, and it was supremely good, just like soul calibur on the dramcast, arguably the best, as it was the freshest, i know soul edge was at the arcade and ps1 earlier , but it wasnt the same,…turn 10 can suck my left low hanger. there poo as wel.
this has been left behind, its not fresh in ANY way, dont buy, . move on. gran turismo and split second for me. activision can suck my right not so low hanger for blur…they have to pay ME to play activisions games.
the series frmo MSR to PGR1 and then 2 were great, going from strength to strength, 3 was pretty good but lacked the special magic that 2 had, 4 was shockingly bad, Bizzare creations completely lost their way!!!
single player in PGR2 was unreal – it was the only racing game where i experienced such high anxiety – proper edge of your seat stuff!
(second lap of a cone challenge to those that know)
mastering that game was truely rewarding!
micro need to take it back to the beginning!

I make sure you comments are monitored as you’ve shown to have used heavy profanity.
He is talking about the Zune port.
PGR4 was awesome… superb graphics… loved the wheather effects…
This is good news. Because Forza3 sucked so bad, PGR5 should be good as long as Turn10 has nothing to do with it.
Eagerly anticipating to see if they can surpass pgr4.A new game is surely needed.Work hard lads, need that this year,2010.
