Ever wished you could play God? Ever wanted to create your own Biblical moment in history? Well in Babel Rising  you sorta get the chance. You get to play God and unleash your powers on the people below as they build a tower toward the sky. How are you going to destroy them as they are trying to defy you by? You are given destructive powers to destroy their tower before it reaches the top. With a swipe of a finger or two, you can cause a tsunami or lightning bolt which will clear out a few people at a time. It is your job to stop them in their tracks or else the game is definitely over.

The powers you are given are the lightning bolt which turns them into a pile of ash, tsunami, wind, earthquake, and the firestorm from above. You have to let these powers charge up before you can use them. Majority of the time, I was using the lightning bolt, tsunami and firestorm while the wind and earthquake are gaining more strength. I used the earthquake when a number of the people were hauling up to the upper levels. This strategy helped me survive but it was not too long until they were able to reach the top. They rejoiced and had parties, but didn’t seem to invite me to come along, how rude! And so, I decided to take them on again. I again destroyed their levels but they were fierce in their determination and I faltered. It was an epic fail on my part. I figured I’m not cut out to be God, even if I wanted to.

The graphics were great for the type of action this game had. It also played well with the soundtrack to give you a sense of Godliness as you dramatically battled the humans. The game does have a scoring system online where you can publish them and win trophies, so you can continue to attempt to beat your scores. However after playing for about an hour, I felt the gameplay was a bit too repetitive and I grew tired of it after I lost the last 3 or 4 times. I usually don’t give up too quickly but I was bored after a while. The replayability level is mild, depending on whether you want to beat your previous scores or just want to play while you are waiting in line somewhere.

I thought that this game delivered what it advertised at 99 cents, and allowed you to destroy a tower built by your followers. You were able to use divine powers to obstruct the humans from becoming the same level as you as they built the tower to the top. I liked how the soundtrack and graphics worked well together to allow you to think you were causing destruction. It was dramatic and epic, even if it became repetitive, but it was a fun game to play.
