This video shows great example of just how bad some of the moderators can be on XBOX Live. It’s one thing to ban someone when they are clearly violating the TOA but the moderator (ThePro) in this video shows just how un-professional some of them can be. After sending a private message to the user saying he won’t have any warnings past the message then goes to repeat it in the lobby. Another user politely asks what the user did exactly and his response was “None of your business, you’re muted.”
It’s really a shame when people begin to abuse their powers given them and feel they are above all other rules and jurisdiction with zero fear of any consequences.
Update:
Stephen Toulouse, Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE has responded to the video posted on YouTube and viewed by thousands of people. He says “Yes I’ve seen the heavily edited video of The Pro. He was policing 10th prestige MW2 modding which results in gold account and console ban.” Than he goes on to say, “I did enjoy the the explanation about the audio being totally off/1 sided cause his “capture card went crazy” when its clear it was edited.”
He goes on talking about The Pro and the situation, “While I will speak to him about his tone, the audio is clearly recut to omit the threats and ToU violations the others were saying to him.”
Toulouse than clarifies the role of the Moderators, “We try to do our job protecting the service dispassionately,” before reiterating that “[The Pro's] comments about console banning were out of context and referred to modding.”
Than he finishes the statement with, “Case closed, thanks for bringing it to my attention!”

FYI.. I am a Microsoft employee and something doesn’t seem right here.. Not entirely sure about the full story, but it doesn’t seem to be inline with appropriate conduct if one of our employee’s is threatening, or mistreating another player or customer. Our Customers satisfaction is of paramount concern, along with a health and fun environment to play in. To address this concern directly I have forwarded this along to see what the other side of the story is.

Edited or not this is still a poor way for a Microsoft moderator to act within a lobby. If this is the type of thing they can do maybe they shouldn’t be allowed to have accounts with power that can play games and just, I don’t know moderate?

The person capturing this video is a known modder. He edited it to TRY and make the moderator look bad and did a horrible job at it. He and all his cheating friends deserve to be banned from xbox live for good.

It’s obvious this video has been edited to the point of no return. Also, the kid that made this vid was using a modded console with a hacked 10th prestige on MW2.
In the full, unedited video, this kid admits to all that, then starts threatening the moderator. But all of that was edited out because the kids “capture card went crazy and didn’t record audio.”
The Pro did nothing to abuse his power, instead, he needs to keep going to get all the cheaters off LIVE.

While Toulouse then says he “will certainly speak to The Pro about his tone”, he claims any mention of banning made in the clip was in reference to users caught modding while playing Modern Warfare 2, which result in a ban of both a user’s gold Xbox Live account and their 360 console itself.

The vid turned out to be heavily edited and omitted threats to the Moderator. With that being said, his attitude probably didn’t help much.
Man, I really feel bad for ever finding his game. I hope that he is caught and banned for being a dirty douche with “power”.
This video is heavily edited – you hear the moderator’s comments with no context of what was said or done by the offender.
It also clearly illustrates how a story can be manipulated to present only one side of the story. The complainant here is a hacker who was caught and continued to harass the moderator on another account.
Moderators aren’t your parents, they don’t have to be nice. Their job is to maintain a good experience for everyone by non-arbitrarily enforcing the rules.
But, yeah, this one-sided evidence is really solid proof of the evil moderators.

While ThePro’s tone of voice was a bit harsher than it needed to be, there seems to be plenty more to this video than first meets the eye – or ear, in this case. Seems this video was heavily edited and recut to make ThePro out to be more of a monster than he really is.

ok, so even with this being edited, he’s out of line. there’s 2 10th prestiges in that game, neither of which were banned or messed with from what i could see, he was just muting and banning anyone that spoke. even if they were out of line, he’s just straight abusing his priviledge. i’ve played online games for years and i know admin abuse when i see it. this is a classic example. just because someone doesn’t agree with you, doesn’t mean you have the right to mute or ban them, plain and simple. xbox keeps making my PS3 look better and better by the day.

I just watched the 30 min unedited version. They were all harrasing him, we can’t hear lupo in the video, but from the other players reactions he was violating the TOS. Not to mention the little 12 year old boy having that spat cursing 20 times and threatening The Pro’s grandma and other crap.

I’m sure the guy who got banned deserved it. But come on, you can’t expect to talk like that to someone and not get reported. The Pro was way out of line with his tone and the way he presented himself on xbox live. If he was working at a store and talked to a customer like that, I would expect nothing less of an ass beating.
