G4tv.com’s Patrick Klepek is reporting that a “tense” situation is brewing at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West reportedly met with Activision yesterday morning and have not been seen by Infinity Ward staff members since. Based on some information that has been surfacing throughout the night, it appears both men have been let go from the company.

A screen shot surfaced from Infinity Ward CTO Jason West’s Facebook page at Kotaku with the status update “Jason West is drinking. Also, unemployed.” I can confirm from a source that’s friends with West that update did actually come from West’s account. West also updated his Linkedin profile to appears to reflect a change in employment.
“President/Game Director/CCO/CTO Infinity Ward
January 2001 – March 2010 (9 years 3 months)”
Update:
It has been confirmed by Activision now, according to the official statement we’ve all been waiting for, Activision has announced that Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with the studio. Activision Publishing chief technology officer Steve Pearce and head of production Steve Ackrich will head up the development house on “an interim basis.”
What is your opinion on this matter? Is Activision making a big mistake by not settling anything with the guys that bring them in a lot of cash? Is Activision going for the same look that EA went with a decade ago? Please comment below and let us know. No registration required to post.

I don’t know its hard to say if Activision compared a cow to a giraffe and if a circle is as round as a square but if two plus two equals four what they hell am I talking about. I can’t wait for the money I am due soon. Do helicopters really fly?
