Giant developer Bungie has filed a new trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which was noted on here first. The site even postulates that Bungie will be working on a newly formed Microsoft group 343 Studios that will be working with to make the next Halo Game. However, this trademark isn’t meant for any specific video game.
Titled as Bungie Aerospace, this program is vaguely listed as being associated to everything relating to video games, even including the goods and/or services:
“Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Computer game software for personal computers and home video game consoles; Computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones; Computer software, namely, game engine software for video game development and operation; Interactive game software; Video game software”
Unsure of the industry’s motives, we can only assume the trademark is being used to promote Bungie’s next unannounced video game, or a new type of engine which would be licensed out to other developers. So what could Bungie Aerospace mean?
Check Kokugamer.com later for any additional details.
You guys think Bungie is smart finally stepping away from the Halo franchise? Will you still support them even though they’re done with Halo? Comment below and let us know. No registration required to post.

The Cake is a Lie!
I think this is definitely part of the new multi-platform gaming effort going on a microsoft, where you can play the same game seamlessly (they hope) from your xbox, computer, or windows7 phone. So probably bungie is developing the system that will actually facilitate this. And ‘aerospace’ sounds very ‘cloud’ to me, so I think it definitely makes sense.
i quit supporting bungie after H2 was released. anything after Halo:CE is just trash.
Hopefully, Bungee will be making stuff for the PS3!!!
chika chika yeah!
PS3 Dave,
Yea, hope to see them do multi-platform for once. They have a lot of potential.
we knew this for a long time… took you a while
If they were good enough to make Halo, I’d say they’re good enough to do anything. I support.
@ lol,
We? You knew maybe, but many didn’t.
“even though their done with Halo?”. Really? “Their”? English please
Hm… sounds like they’re trying to pull a Valve with their own version of Steam.
Let’s just hope Bungie does a much better job on this than Oni.
Rofl – like MS are going to stoopid enough to let bungie develop games for sony? I think @Alan has it spot on. cross platform across MS products.
Windows 78 mobile has some amazing features that could make it the lead player in mobile gaming.
@bob
Bungie hasn’t been part of Microsoft since 2007. The “Halo” properties are still owned by Microsoft and MS does have a minority interest in Bungie, LLC. But Bungie can certainly do what they want from here on out without needing MS’s consent to work on PS3 titles.
Wow, I can hardly wait to see what they come up with, I mean Halo was one of the greatest.
