At long last, Square Enix has pulled back the curtain on Dragon Quest X, announcing that it will come to Wii and Wii U. Dragon Quest X will be available for the Wii in 2012, while the WIi U version’s release date has yet to be revealed. Dragon Quest X will be an online game, and owners of the Wii and Wii U versions can play with each other. This will be the first Dragon Quest game to be developed internally by Square Enix. Additionally, the game will be supported with post-release content.
The fact that Dragon Quest X will include a USB drive to store post release content for the Wii version and that the game will have keyboard support suggests that this will play similarly to an MMO. This could raise eyebrows of fans of the series, which is typically a traditional JRPG.
