At long last, Final Fantasy XIII-2 has received a release date. In Japan, it will release on December 15th. North American gamers will be able to play the game on January 31st, followed by February 3rd in Europe. Along with an early release date, Japanese gamers will be able to purchase a limited edition Final Fantasy XIII-2 Playstation 3 console. The console will feature the game’s protagonist, Lightning, with a black background on the top of the console.
Personally, Final Fantasy XIII was underwhelming. Its linearity hampered the game so much that it felt like it played itself. Hopefully, Square-Enix has learned from the mistakes of Final Fantasy XIII and will make its sequel less linear.
