Sad news today, Realtime Worlds has filed bankruptcy, closed their U.S. office, and let go of another 170 staff members. The remaining team of 50 will stay on to handle APB while the developer attempts to sell the game and pay off the mountain of debt they racked up during development of the “not an mmo” mmo.

I feel bad for all the people that are out of work, but APB was horribly mis-managed and in this economy a mid-tier developer/publisher just can’t afford to launch a stinker. Goodbye Realtime, you’ll be missed.
