With StarCraft II in beta, now is a perfect time to get in.Kotaku and its readers has reported that GameStop has now given gamers two fair ways and one very cheap and exploitive way. You can either order the game online and receive the beta code, or pre order the game for in store pickup and receive the code next day at the GameStop you order at. Last way is to go to the GameStop, place down the five dollars to pre order the game and get the code printed on the receipt. Unfortunately the first two options have a catch to it.
Reserve StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and receive an invitation to the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta. Available online and in-store while supplies last. Once you receive your Beta Code your order cannot be canceled.
The first two choices have the risk that the disclaimer described however, if you place down the five dollars, you can receive the game beta code. Then you can either cancel the pre order at a later time or pay for the game at launch depending on how much you like it.
After talking to a couple GameStops, it also looks like the beta code will work on both the PC and the upcoming Mac version which will be released next week. So if you are an unlucky fan that did not attend Blizzcon or gotten into the first beta, now is your chance to join the fun.
