The four winners of the 2009 Dream.Build.Play competition, held by the XNA Creators Club, have been announced from a selection of over 350 games submitted by developers in more than 100 countries.
This year’s first place was Dean Dodrill from the United States. He took the grand prize of $40,000 for “Dust: An Elysian Tail”, a hand-animated/painted side-scrolling action RPG set in the beautiful world of Falana. Dust must rescue an oppressed village and remember his past.
Second place went to Panya Inversin and his team, also from the US, who took home $20,000 for “Max Blastronaut”, a four-player space-shooter/brawler.
Mauricio Garcia’s team at Nivel21 Entertainment, from Spain, got $10,000 and third place for puzzle game “Rotor’scope – The Secret of the Endless Energy”.
Fourth was China’s Hu Ling and his team for their martial arts game “HurricaneX2 Evolution”. They received $5,000 for their efforts.
